AMPC AngleMe
Australian Meat Processor Corporation (AMPC) has a mission to support the red meat processing industry throughout Australia.
AMPC asked Optivly, part of the Response group of companies, to design, build and manage an AR app to help show meat workers what angle their blade was at when they are sharpening or steeling. It's a golf swing analyser for knife sharpening!!
The AngleMe app is primarily used by external trainers, internal trainers and supervisors as a coaching tool to help show employees the correct knife angle to use when sharpening their knives. Knife sharpening is a critical skill in the meat processing industry as it has been shown to reduce repetitive strain injuries caused by incorrectly sharpened blades and improve yields.
If you have any suggestions for improving the app, please get in touch with us at Optivly or contact AMPC and give us your brilliant ideas.
AngleMe, built for industry by industry.
What does the app do?
The app allows you to take a video or a photo of a person in the process of sharpening a knife (well any angle really!). Once you have the footage or image you are happy with, you can then overlay an angle between the steel and the knife blade.
Available on the Apple AppStore and Google PlayStore.
