A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is a reference number assigned to you which allows all of your national vocational education and training (VET) training records to be linked. It will make it easier for you to find, collate and authenticate your VET achievements and also ensure your VET records are not lost.
The USI is available online and at no cost to you. This USI will stay with you for life and be recorded with any nationally recognised VET course that is undertaken from 1 January 2015. You may apply for your USI directly by going to the www.usi.gov.au website.
Alternatively, Response Learning Victoria can, with your permission, apply for a USI on your behalf. We will provide the Student Identifiers Registrar (Registrar) the following items of personal information about you:
- your full name and date of birth (if shown) as it appears in your identification document;
- your city or town of birth, as well as your country of birth;
- your gender and your contact details
NB: The above information is recorded within your enrolment form.
Please note that Response Learning Victoria is unable to issue certificates for accredited training without having your USI number verified and on record.
Enrolment extension
Applications for an extension of time to complete studies are assessed on an individual basis. Your facilitator will assist you in this process. Enrolment extensions may be granted where reasonable cause of inability to complete is provided.
